Community Cafes<\/strong> are a series of 6 parent-led conversations.<\/p>\n Each cafe meeting is 2 hours in duration.<\/p>\n To help reduce any barriers for attending families, dinner and childcare are provided.<\/p>\n Parent-led leadership is a strength-based approach to family support that emphasizes the importance of lived experiences and perspectives in advocating for community changes that benefit children and families. It is characterized by a collaboration between parents and community organizations, where both share responsibility, expertise, and leadership.<\/p>\n In partnership with the Learning Community Center of Douglas and Sarpy, both North and South centers have hosted Community Cafes.<\/p>\n Cafe topics of discussion have included: Conversations with Our Children, How to Show Love to Self, Celebrate Motherhood, Harvesting Life Lessons, Ways to Sustain My Income, Vision for Self, Family, and Community, and My Mental Health.<\/p>\n Community Cafes help parents advocate for change on issues that matter to them!<\/p>\n
